The Higashiyama Branch 2
division has been conducting researches mainly using the EISCAT radar system
that consists of the KST UHF tristatic radars, VHF
radar and heating facility, and the newly
constructed EISCAT Svalbard (ESR) radar. The EISCAT project is a joint program
between the STE Laboratory of Nagoya University and the National Institute of
Polar Research (NIPR). NIPR and STEL are representing
Japan as a member country.
My own scientific interests are:
·
Solar wind-magnetosphere interactions
·
Magnetosphere-ionosphere-thermosphere coupling
·
Planetary ionospheres and magnetospheres
A brief general
introduction of our research field with links to tutorial pages is available at
the home page of the Division
2, "Ionospheric and Magnetospheric Environment", of the STEL.
