Global Vlasov simulation of weakly-magnetized small body

Kdata05.png

Global Vlasov simulation of weakly-magnetized small body performed on the K computer.

The color shows the ion density and the lines show magnetic field lines.

The solar wind plasma is injected from the left boundary. A high-density region is formed at the dayside magnetopause, while a low-density wake region is formed at the nightside of the body.
